The Dragon Ball series are a Trilogy; composed by 3 episodes "Dragon Ball", "Dragon Ball Z", and "Dragon Ball GT". In Latinamerica the show is known as "Dragon Ball", even though in Spain it is known as "Bola de Dragon"
Dragon Ball was created by Akira Toriyama a Japanese manga artist, first it was published in a manga, and then it made its way to TV and the movies. There hasn't been any other anime more popular than Dragon Ball in the whole world. To tell you the truth I haven't seen "Dragon Ball GT" 'cause in my cable there isn't any channel that shows it. But I'm watching "Dragon Ball Z" and right now I don't miss any episode, no matter if I have to study
Here we know Goku (known among the saijayins as "Kakarot"), a naive saijayin child who was sent to earth with a mission, to kill all humankind and prepare the planet to be sold to Freezer (Saijayins were a warrior's race who liked fighting and killing; they lived in a planet called Vegita). Goku arrived to earth in a space ship when he was only a baby, and old man called Son Gohan took him to his home and raised the little child. The Saiyan's plan failed because Goku hit his head when he was still a child and he forgot his mission.
The child looks just like a human child, but there was something abnorma,l he had a tail.
The little Goku was a "pain in the BUTT" for the old Son Gohan, but he gave him lots of love and care. Son Gohan was killed one day when Goku transformed into a giant ape and crushed his grandpa (Son Gohan). Goku didn't known this until he noticed he was a saijayin and when a saijayin looks at the full moon they are transformed into a giant ape, furious and bestial, his power is also increased. Only when the saijayin is an adult he can learn to control the giant ape (Oozaku transformation).
Goku then meets Krillyn, they go with and old man kind of perverted (in the sex way), known as Kamesenin (Sensei Roshi), to be trained into martial arts. Kamesenin had a big collection of pornographic magazines and he always had a big crush on Buruma (Bulma), a beautiful girl friend of Goku. Bulma is an intelligent and rich young woman whose father owns the famous Capsule Corp. (They can put everything into a capsule :- )
In this story, Goku enemies are not as powerful as in DBZ, but remember, here Goku was just a child (Chibi-Goku). The greatest enemy of this story is Picoro Dai MaKu and then his son (reencarnation), Picoro(Mayunia). Then the others enemies are Tao Pai Pai ("The most famous killer"), and Ten Shin Han(Tien) & Chaos (Chauza), this 2 last ones were Sensei Tsuru disciples, which was Tao Pai Pai brother. Later Ten and Chaos become Goku's friends. And last but not least is the RED RIBBON; by the way Tao Pai Pai was associated with them, and his most biggest science man was Dr. Makki Gero, you'll heard a lot about it in DBZ Cell Saga.
Once the training was over they go to the 21st. Martial Arts Kumite, which is won by Kamesenin (undercover) defeating Goku (he uses for first time in combat the Kamehameha technique). The 22nd. Martial Arts Kumite is won by TenShinHan (a three eyed warrior) defeating Goku with a lot of effort and by a "lucky strike".
Bulma and Goku get into a lot of adventures seeking for the mystical 7 dragon balls, which can realize any desire to a man.
When Goku grows up Kamizama (Deu) trains him, and he goes to the 23rd. Martial Arts Kumite won at last by Goku defeating Piccolo (Picoro, Mayunia). After the tournament he gets married to ChiChi(Milk). And this is how finishes the first Chapter of the Dragon Ball Trilogy.
Dragon Ball Z, the sequel of DB, is even better than the origins. Here Goku reaches an unbelievable power, mainly because of his genetic capability (Saijayin); he reaches a Super Saijayin level, the first saijayin who reaches that level. The story begins when Gohan is lost in the forest and Chichi(Milk) was waiting for him and Goku; all the earth was in heavenly peace, but suddenly...
A Saiyan called Raditz appears he is Goku's older brother and came to the earth to kill all the people, since Kakarot (Goku), didn't do his job. Goku
The story begins... Goku and Chichi are married; they have a son, named Gohan. Gohan, is a saijayin like his father but not as problematic as Goku when child. Gohan is an overprotected son, her mother (Chichi) doesn't give him too much room, she pushes him to study, to be a good boy, etc. Actually Chichi is like a neurotic mom, she screams and hits, and she is the only person who disrespects Goku.
The earth was in heavenly peace, but suddenly...
An evil being appears send by the Saijayins to find out what happened with the little Kakarot (Goku), sent to destroy the earth's people; they send Raditz (Goku's brother) to find out what happened... He arrives and finds
out the mission failed, so he begins the destruction of humankind. He goes to the Kamehouse and fights with Picoro and Kakarot. Both Picoro and Goku beat Raditz, but Goku dies. And they told Raditz about de 7 Dragon Balls and its magic properties. Picoro trains Gohan for a whole year, in the meantime, Goku (dead) is trained by Kaiosama, and he learns the "kaioken" and the "gengidama"..... Then 2 more saijayins arrive Vegeta (his wish like Freezer's is to conquer eternal life") and Nappa. And the fight begins. First the Saivanmans fight with our heroes (Yamcha, Chaos, TenShinHan, Picoro, Krillyn and Gohan). A Saivanman kills Yamcha. Nappa kills chaos, TenShinHan and Picoro. Then Goku arrives, both saijayins are astonished, Gokou kills Nappa easily (Now Goku has a KI of 30,000). And then fights Vegeta, none of them could have won... Vegeta transforms into a giant Ape and sends Goku out of Combat... But suddenly Yayirobe cuts off Vegeta's tail, and he recovers his normal form. But later, Gohan is transformed into a giant Ape and sends Vegeta out of combat.... Krillyn could have killed Vegeta, but Goku told him to let Vegeta go, and he obeys.
All of our friends are sad... There are no dragon balls because Picoro was killed, and if he dies Kamizama dies too. But they remember that the saijayins were talking about Namecusein a planet where there are people like Picoro... and in this planet should exist the Dragon Balls.

Dragon ball is a story about friendship, courage, pride and determination: you can see how friends became Goku and Bulma, Goku and Krillyn, etc. Courage, pride, determination; all in a single word: SAYAJIN (or saiyan), this beings are unbelievable, but it supposed they are cruel. But we knew a brave and honest sayajin, GOKU, he wouldn't do anything to hurt good people. He likes to fight, if an enemy is stronger than he is, he just thing: "the stronger an enemy is, the better for me".
A Saiyan has not a limit to his powers. Every time after a fight even though they lose, their powers are increased.the stronger an enemy is, the better for Goku.
Something you must know, where DRAGON BALL name came from... There are 7 dragon balls, and if you find them you could ask for a wish to Sheng Long (The Great Dragon). Sheng Long was created by Kamizama (the good part of Picoro), and Mr. Popo, who made the dragon sculpture,...
Sheng Long (the earth Dragon), could accomplish one wish for you... He can resurrect, but just one time at each person, he even can do mass resurrection... When the wish is accomplished the dragon balls become inactive, a year must pass then... And if Kamizama dies, Sheng Long dies too.
Oruga (that's what I heard when Dende called Namecusein dragon): He can make 3 wishes come true, but if it's a resurrection a wish is spent. One resurrection by week
The new Dragon Balls: the ones made by Dende could accomplish 2 wishes and mass resurrection.
Dragon Ball story began with the 4 stars dragon ball, the one that made it all... The first encounter of Bulma and Goku... Bulma convinced Goku to go with her in the search for all 7 dragon balls... And the story begins.
The goal: Get the 7 dragon balls.
The teams: The good ones (Goku and friends), and the bad ones (Picoro, Red Ribbon, etc.)
The good ones equipment: Goku's strength, and Bulma's intelligence and company, Capsule Corp� . They can put everything into a capsule :-)
Vegeta is the proudest of all Saiyans he wouldn't even admit someone is stronger than he is (Just when that case is Goku, someone told me he did it...) Vegeta's power is in his huge pride, PRINCE OF ALL SAIYANS. That character of Vegeta makes him popular among Dragon Ball otakus... After Goku the main character of the story, he's the second one most liked... PRIDE, PRIDE, PRIDE!!!
